Featured Artist, September 29-October 6: JAY Risner

About the artist:

Jay is a self taught sculptor. He sculpts in clay, and makes a mold from his art using paint on latex, and makes a fiberglass bladder to hold the latex in position when the concrete is poured in the mold. Jay pours every piece himself and mixes color into the concrete, making each piece a little unique. His art is available in a handful of stores in Ohio, and at festivals Kim and Ned Steinke take his art to on his behalf.

About the art:

Jay's whimsical sculptures include a variety of fish, animals, and sun and moon sculptures.
