Featured Artist, August 25-September 1: Claire Williams

About the art:
Did you know that Iroquois Park is home to at least five species of native orchids? This piece (using watercolor paints and colored pencils) depicts the cranefly orchid’s pleated green leaf, which appears on the forest floor in winter and then disappears, and its blossoms, which flower briefly in July.
About the artist:
Claire grew up in Wisconsin and has loved living in Beechmont since 1989. She was a class teacher at the Waldorf School of Louisville for 21 years and continues to volunteer there in her retirement.
